Look, we get it - privacy policies can be a slog to read through. We've tried to make ours as straightforward as possible because honestly, we're architects, not lawyers. But your trust matters to us, so here's how we handle your info when you work with us or just browse around our site.
When you reach out to us or start a project, we're gonna need some basic stuff to actually help you out. Name, email, phone number - the usual suspects. If you're a client, we'll also collect project details, site information, and any preferences you share with us during consultations.
We also use some standard website analytics (cookies and that sort of thing) to see how folks use our site. Nothing creepy though - just things like which pages get the most traffic, how long people stick around, general location data. Helps us figure out if our portfolio section is actually interesting or putting people to sleep.
Pretty straightforward stuff here:
We're not in the business of selling your data - that's not our thing. But sometimes we do need to share information with:
Project Partners: When we're working on your project, we might need to share relevant details with engineers, contractors, consultants, or other professionals who are part of the team. Everyone signs confidentiality agreements though.
Service Providers: We use third-party tools for things like email hosting, cloud storage, project management software. These companies only get access to what they need to provide their services.
Legal Stuff: If we're legally required to disclose information (court orders, regulations, that kind of thing), we'll comply. Hopefully that never happens.
You've got options here. Since we're based in Canada, you've got rights under privacy laws like PIPEDA. You can:
We take reasonable precautions to keep your info secure. Our systems use encryption, secure servers, access controls - the standard security measures you'd expect. That said, no system is 100% bulletproof, and we can't guarantee absolute security (nobody honestly can).
We keep your personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes we collected it, or as required by law. For client projects, that usually means keeping records for several years after project completion for legal and warranty purposes.
Our website uses cookies - those little bits of data that help the site remember you and work properly. Some are essential (the site literally won't function without them), others help us understand how visitors use the site.
You can control cookie settings through your browser, though turning off essential cookies might make parts of the site wonky. Most browsers have a "do not track" feature too, which we respect.
Sometimes we link to other websites - maybe a supplier, a material manufacturer, or project partners. Once you click those links, you're on their turf and their privacy policies apply, not ours. We can't control what they do, so it's worth checking their policies if you're concerned.
Our services aren't directed at anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from kids. If you're a parent and think we've somehow collected info from your child, let us know and we'll delete it.
We might update this policy from time to time as our practices evolve or laws change. When we make significant changes, we'll post the updated version here and change the date at the top. For major changes, we might send an email to let clients know.
If you've got questions about this privacy policy or how we handle your information, don't hesitate to reach out. We'd rather have a conversation than have you worry about it.

You can also file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you feel your privacy rights haven't been respected, though we hope it doesn't come to that.
